LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION! TORCH YOUTH THEATRE RETURNS IN JANUARY 2022 WITH NEW TERM DATES AND EXCITING NEW PROJECT WITH MILFORD HAVEN MUSEUM.
Since the 2nd of November, the future stars of the stage have been enjoying a fun packed term after returning to the Torch Youth Theatre! With special classes, behind the scenes tours, and sneak peaks at the Christmas pantomime, there’s been lots going on.
Torch Youth Theatre leader, Chloe Wheeler, said, “Our first term back at the Torch Theatre has flown by and we’ve had a great time exploring Shakespeare, Pantomime, Musical Theatre and even a bit of Murder Mystery!
Next term, I’m thrilled to announce we’ll be working with Milford Museum on a project which will look at the opinions of our young people with the future of the museum in mind. There will be a chance for each group to visit the museum and to do some filming on location, which is all very exciting.”
The new term will commence on Tuesday 18 January, and will run for 10 weeks, at a cost of £50 per child regardless of their age. The classes which meet weekly on Tuesday evenings at the Torch Theatre and are organised by school years. They will run as follows:

The Torch Youth Theatre has a rich history of supporting and nurturing local talent. Previous members include Connie Fisher (The Sound of Music), Dr Sita Thomas (Milkshake), Yasemin Özdemir who recently starred in the Torch Theatre Company production of Angel, and Samuel Freeman who is currently starring as Prince Charming the Torch Theatre’s Cinderella which opens to the public on December 16th.
Chloe continued, “At Torch Youth Theatre, we are proud to offer a more relaxed approach. For a huge range of young people, no matter what their experience or background.
We know that not all our members are destined for the stage, previous members have gone on to use the skills they’ve learnt at youth theatre by becoming doctors, teachers, make-up artists, cruise liner entertainers, artists, even parents.
It was an absolute pleasure to watch our alumni Yasemin, starring in the one-woman show Angel reopening the stage at the Torch after its closure to sell out audiences, we’re very proud of her! Our biggest achievement is always seeing our members grow in confidence and spirit, and to take the skills that they learn with us, into their everyday lives. We’re looking forward to welcoming new faces to our classes and can’t wait for the new term!”
