The Wind in the Willows Review by Freya Barn

From the moment you sit in the theatre your scene was set. The weasels, ferrets and all the animals of the forest were sat on stage playing, just like any animal would do. When the show began, we are taken through the story of the Mole, Rat, Badger and Toad. Mole, after long days spent in his home, goes exploring and gets himself lost but is glad to see a Rat sat by a river. The Rat and the Mole become great friends and go out on Rat's rowing boat with a picnic basket, but along the way rudely interrupted by Toad with a very loud and annoying motor boat. Meanwhile, the ferrets and weasels and all the other animals in the wood have agreed to join a gang with an older weasel, after being startled by a loud noise and the older weasel agreeing to tell them what the noise is.

Soon after, Rat and Mole go on a camping adventure, but while they are sleeping, weasels and ferrets attempt to steal from them but are luckily saved by Badger. When they awake, they meet Badger and they all are sat in Mole's house, saying that they have to go and help Toad and that his wealth has gotten to him. They set off to help him but everything begins to go downhill.

This is a beautifully put together story. I’m sure we all know the story of the Wind in the Willows. It's an old but magnificent story. This is my first time reviewing this drama group and I am already blown away. The way they tell this story is truly extraordinary. From the moment you sit down to the final line of the play they told this story amazingly. The actors in this play knew what they were doing and were familiar with the stage and put on a marvellous show. The cast was great and everyone had a part to play, whether that's helping with the set or saying a few words on stage. Everyone was given a chance to shine on and off stage.

Watching this play was like being transported into a whole new world full of animals, fun and a little bit of humour. Everyone did so well with their part and i would love to watch this play over and over again. I just can't get enough of this story. Great job to the cast and backstage workers of this production and I can't wait to see what other plays you have in store!
