THE ROYAL OPERA: THE MARRIAGE OF FIGARO
THE ROYAL OPERA: THE MARRIAGE OF FIGARO
An encore screening of the Marriage of Figaro by the Royal Opera will be broadcast at the Torch Theatre on Thursday 4 May at 6.45pm. With its universal themes of love, infidelity and rejection, this wonderful opera is always a hit.
Servants Figaro and Susanna are filled with excitement on their wedding day, but there’s a hitch: their employer, the Count Almaviva, has dishonourable intentions of his own towards the bride-to-be. With more twists than a page boy’s stockings, the story of Mozart’s comic opera will surprise and delight you at every turn.
With a Royal Opera Chorus and Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, opera lovers are in for an evening of pure enjoyment.
Come to the Torch Theatre for the music and stay for the cross-dressing hilarity, all unfolding over the course of one crazy, topsy-turvy day in the Almaviva household. Royal Opera Music Director Antonio Pappano conducts a truly international cast in David McVicar’s timeless production.
The Marriage of Figaro will be screened here at the Torch Theatre on Thursday 4 May 2023 at 7.30pm. Tickets: £19 (full); £17 concessions, £8.50 U26. Tickets can be booked from the Torch Theatre Box Office on 01646 695267 or here
Please note that this is an encore screening and not a live broadcast
