Genre-hopping Six Piece Will Wow at the Torch

Step into the sonic world of Circadia, a dream-fuelled journey through the human subconscious charting a typical sleep cycle here at the Torch Theatre on Sunday, 20 October. In the company of David Grubb – artist, string arranger, composer and performer, audiences will move through the sleep phases and encounter strange phenomena such as exploding head syndrome, somnambulism, and lucid dreaming, all via a genre-hopping six-piece violin, clarinet, keys, guitar, bass and drums.

Prepare to delve into the bizarre, limitless nature of the unconscious mind in this instrumental exploration through the human subconscious, utilising a typical sleep cycle as a roadmap. Starting wakeful, audience members will dive into the dream realm through the hypnagogic state, traversing the sleep phases and encountering weird and beautiful phenomena and experiences along the way in the company of performers David Grubb, Annie Perry, Corben Lee, Daniel Whitting, Clem Saynor, Jon Reynolds.

David has become a sought-after musician renowned for his ability to blend musical styles seamlessly. Primarily a violinist, he has shared the stage and studio with notable acts, including Novo Amor, Lowswimmer, Hailaker, and Jim Ghedi, and collaborated with producers Ali Chant, Neil Davidge, and Ed Tullett.

David's music goes beyond traditional boundaries, crafting post-folk compositions that weave together disparate elements into conceptual instrumental journeys. In contemporary music, David is a boundary-pushing artist who creates evocative experiences.
