The Torch Theatre is pleased to announce that we are offering young people and adults the opportunity to develop their playwriting and creative writing skills through a series of workshops, led by our expert in-house team, during the February half-term.

We believe that everyone has a story to tell, and we want to help you share yours!

No experience is necessary for either of these schemes, and we encourage people from all backgrounds to get involved.

Our adult session for all those aged 18+ will take place on Sunday 19^th February from 1pm to 6pm.

Do you have a story that you’d like to turn into a play, but you don’t know where to start? Or you’re just a little bit curious about how plays are written. Join us for this relaxed creative half-day workshop where we take you through the principles of beginning to write. The first steps on the road to becoming a playwright. Led by professional practice, we will look at techniques for writing, as well as sharing your ideas with the group and getting that elusive first scene and character down on the page.

Young people aged 15 – 18 years are welcome to join us on Monday 20^th, Tuesday 21^st, and Wednesday 22^nd February, from 10am – 4pm.

The sessions complement GCSE and A Level study and have been designed to support the development of literacy and oracy skills through playwriting. We bring professional playwriting practice and our participants together in creative, playful, and challenging sessions, which seek to nurture the voice of the young people.

The cost for these three days is £50.

All this activity takes place here at the Torch Theatre, Milford Haven.
