Jamie Owen

Jamie Owen is a Welsh television news journalist, broadcaster and writer.

Born in Haverfordwest, Jamie first visited the Torch as a child and has since been involved in presenting numerous concerts and talks over the years and supporting the theatre.

“The Torch is close to my heart and was an important place for me growing up in Pembrokeshire. I first visited as a child with my parents. I am delighted to continue to be associated with the Torch as a patron and I encourage everyone to support its endeavours. The Torch is in the West End of Wales and has a lot to offer the community and beyond.” 

Jamie currently anchors the international TV network - CGTN Europe from London. Previously Jamie was at the BBC for almost 30 years, initially on BBC Radio and then presenting BBC Wales Today. He has presented on BBC Radio 4, BBC 5 Live, Songs of Praise, BBC Breakfast News, over sixty documentaries and has worked extensively overseas in Libya, Egypt and Istanbul. Jamie is the author of six books about Wales - its coast and countryside.

He lives in the Preseli Mountains and London.
