NT Live’s Critically Acclaimed ‘Yerma’ screens at the Torch Theatre.

‘Yerma’ – Billie Piper returns in her award-winning role, broadcast live at the Torch from the Young Vic on Thursday 31 August.

The incredible Billie Piper (Penny Dreadful, Great Britain) returns in her award-winning role. A young woman is driven to the unthinkable by her desperate desire to have a child in Simon Stone’s radical production of Lorca’s achingly powerful masterpiece Yerma.

Set in contemporary London, Piper’s portrayal of a woman in her thirties desperate to conceive builds with elemental force to a staggering, shocking, climax. A powerful, emotional and unforgettable modern drama; strikingly and inventively staged.

A hugely well-received production with many five-star reviews, critics called Yerma ‘an extraordinary theatrical triumph’ (The Times) and ‘stunning, searing, unmissable’ (Mail on Sunday). Billie Piper’s lead performance is described as ‘spellbinding’ (The Evening Standard), ‘astonishing’ (iNews) and ‘devastatingly powerful’ (The Daily Telegraph).

One of theatre’s hottest tickets at the moment, sold out at the Young Vic – so the only way for audiences to see Billie Piper’s stunning performance, for which she won the 2017 Olivier Award for Best Actress, is in the cinema.

Audiences can view this unmissable performance, broadcast live from the Young Vic on Thursday 31 August, 7pm at The Torch Theatre.
Make an evening of it, and pre-book your Cafè Torch evening meal – our August menu is available to view online as a digital flip booklet. Book soon to avoid disappointment!

Please note that this broadcast does not have an interval. Please note that the performance contains strobe lighting.
