Simon Hancock

Councillor Simon Hancock is a native of Neyland, Pembrokeshire, has been a member of Pembrokeshire County Council since 1995 and served on his local town council for almost 30 years. He has very wide experience across local government and held many positions of responsibility including three years as Chair of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority (2006-9). He has a particular interest in social services and health care and served as the county council cabinet member with responsibility for adult social care, health and well-being between 2012-17. He is the Older Person’s and Learning Disabilities champion for Pembrokeshire County Council.

 

Councillor Hancock sits on a number of outside bodies including the board of Pembrokeshire MENCAP, the Pembrokeshire Blind Society, Pembrokeshire 50 Plus Forum, and he is a board member of the VC Gallery. He is an Independent Member of the Hywel Dda University Health Board. Councillor Hancock, is a Magistrate and is a museum curator by profession who holds the AMA professional qualification. He has been the curator of the Haverfordwest Town Museum since 1998.
